Welcome to our website blog. I would like to introduce you to one of my favorite authors. They are a husband and wife writing team with over 120 published books between them…fiction & nonfiction for adults, teens, & kids (8 – 12). Their goal with all of their articles, stories, and books is to stir up your own creativity and strengthen the reader (listeners) faith.
Both Stephen and Janet Bly are California natives. When they ventured up to Winchester Idaho they believed they had found their dream home come true. Not real fancy but very comfortable. They live close to their kids and grandkids. Finding it so peaceful, they were able to write over 120 published books.
Stephen Bly has won many awards. The Long Trail Home, (Broadman & Holman), won the prestigious 2002 Christy Award for excellence in Christian fiction in the Western Novel category. Three other books, Picture Rock, (Crossway Books), Last Of The Texas Camp (Broadman & Holman), and The Outlaw’s Twin Sister, (Crossway Books), were Christy Award finalists.
Stephen is a very popular speaker at colleges, churches, camps and conferences all over the U.S. and Canada. He is the pastor of Winchester Community Church, and served as mayor of Winchester, Idaho from 2000 to 2007. He has been on many TV and radio programs and is an active member of Western Writers of America.
Janet has a B.S. degree in Literature and Languages and Fine and Performing Arts from Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston Idaho. She is a very welcome speaker at women’s retreats, writer’s conferences, and family seminars.
Her love for writing show up in her very accurate and historical way she describes the characters she writes about. She finds a way to unite Love, pain, healing, and intrigue with just enough of each to keep you longing for more and gives you a curiosity that will not let you stop listening.
The Bly’s are two of the most interesting authors you will listen to. Try their books and see for yourself. They will keep you entertained without any vulgar or explicit language and when you are done with their book you will feel attached somehow to the families and people they write about.

My Family has enjoyed all of Stephen Bly's books for years and now I'm attempting to get the audio versions so we can enjoy them again on the road! The Hidden West series by Janet and Stephen is a personal favorite of mine. While several members of the family have their own copies of the Fortunes of the Black Hills series. Pick a series to start with and fall in love with the West all over again!
